Quickie: The Walking Dead E1-E3

Recently started watching this. I know I know, WHY haven’t I already seen it right? Zombies. I know, I shoulda been there.. but I’m here now! :D First 20 mins of episode 1 was reminiscent of 28 Days. After he arms himself and enters Atlantic City, it reminded of of Resident Evil 2. Not too much action but it is obvious from the start this is a character driven show. I thought Grime’s wife and son had died before they were able to leave because none of the keys in his cupboard were missing. Episode 2 gave me a whammy. His wife and son are alive. Not only that, his best friend is doing his wife. Of course, they  both believe he’s dead so its not cheating per se. I wonder how long he’s been out and how long its been since the whole zombie thing happened. We’re also introduced to a bunch of other people including the Asian guy Glenn who calls the zombies “geeks”. Way cool. And how he broke down on why only he and one other person should go down the sewer was awesome. Shows that he has seen enough horror movies to know “what went wrong” and not repeat those mistakes. Smart kid. They escape the city. Episode 3 the survivors in the city meet up with the survivors outside the city and BAM! Grimes and family reunited. Awkwardness and guilt ensues. Grimes, T-Top, crazy Daryl, and Glenn go back to city to free Daryl’s equally psychotic brother. And… thats where I’m at. Quickie I said. ;)

I caught episodes 2 and 3 when AMC had a marathon. The end of episode 3 made me go 0___o. I’ve held of on watching the rest since I have other shows to catch up on and Josh might want to watch along.

I just finished the first season (6 eps) and its pretty good! grime’s wife (sarah callies) irritates me in this role though I can’t pinpoint why.
